Ron’s Tip of the Day Keeping Fit

Welcome to Ron’s Tip of the Day. Throughout the week I will share a tip with you. This is an experiment in microblogging. Let me know how I’m doing. Today I am looking at Keeping Fit.

Do you Exercise?

This blog is not a health seminar. But as an author you want to be as fit as possible. You may be overweight, underweight, or right at your proper weight, but you all need to keep at your best. And exercise is part of the equation (proper diet is the other part).

I’m not talking about going to the gym although that wouldn’t be a bad idea. Nor am I talking about getting to your right weight. I’m talking about increasing your energy level, improving your focus, and just plain feeling better.

What kind of exercise are you talking about?

Before answering that let me be clear: the amount of exercise and the type of exercise will vary individually. You may need to consult your doctor; at the very least you want to be comfortable with the exercise routine you follow.

Depending on age, health, and doctor’s advice here are some ideas:

  • Walking
  • Jogging
  • Pushups
  • Situps

Those are basics that most people could do. If you’re not use to exercising, start with low impact and light reps. Then increase incrementally until you get to a 25-minute workout. Also vary the workout from day to day.

Tip of the Day : Light to medium to heavy exercise can help you maintain or improve your health. Better health means better focus and writing results.

My wife (Tess) and I are authors and co-founders of T&R Independent Books. Founded in 2014 TR publishes our books and promotes writing. While we write in two different genres (Tess in Teen and mystery, myself in historical fiction) both writings are from a Christian perspective. I am first a Christian and secondly an author. I love writing about Old Testament saints. Whenever I write I always try to place myself within the primary character's shoes. In long novels that means I may focus on different characters at differing times. The result hoped for is that I bring the character to life. Apparently, according to reviewers, I have achieved this. I also write in Speculative fiction (future history, if you will), plus we've not started TR Writing Services to assist new and struggling authors to write and publish using the Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform. And we keep our prices low.
