Ron’s Tuesday’s Tip: Successful Writing is not a Hobby

I knew nothing about writing other than I wanted to write books, novels in particular. My first step in my journey actually took place as a child. I liked to daydream and I had a good imagination. I would adopt characters from television and I would become that character, then I would fight the bad guys. I was a hero both on Earth and in outer space. But transitioning to a teenager I started writing my stories.

Insights from the World That Was series

The series The World That Was is a fictional story that is based on historical and Biblical facts. I didn’t one day just sit down and dash off a novel. It took tremendous research.

Insights: World of Noah and the Ark

God communicated His intentions to Noah and sent Noah out to preach the coming judgment upon mankind and indeed the world. But the world didn’t listen. They went on their way singing, dancing, living immoral lives, and laughing at Noah and those who followed him. But God had the last laugh.

Insights: World of Noah and the Ark

The real reason people reject the Ark and the Flood is fear; fear that they would have to acknowledge there is a God and that He holds them personally responsible for their actions. It is a fear that pushes them to the unreasonable and extreme positions they hold. The plight of the modern day evolutionists should break our hearts. It is like a man desperately holding onto the railing of the ship even as the ship slides beneath the waves.

Insights From World of Shem

While I hope more Christians write on Biblical events and people, I recognize that it places a heavy burden on that writer.

But it is worth it.

A Look At World That Was

Writing these novels is far more than an exercise in imagination. Much research has already taken place and more will be required. While time consuming and tiring, it is well worth the effort.

How I Wrote Perished Part II

Research is almost a dirty word, but it is necessary for both the non-fiction and fiction writer. For a novel to connect with the reader it needs to have actual facts.

Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD

This godly man was singled out by God to oversee the building of an Ark to the saving of mankind. And he was also instructed to preach of coming judgment and extend an invitation to be on the ship.
