Riddle News: Pants on Fire

Featured

10 19 2020

Welcome to Riddle News which is published every Monday and Friday.

We took a bad economy and turned it around. Donald Trump took a good economy and drove it into the ditch.” Joe Biden.

Fact Check time.

Is what Biden said true?

“We took a bad economy”

The Obama/Biden Administration inherited a very bad economy. And it got so bad that President Obama and Vice President Biden desperately tried everything they could think of to right the ship. It devastated people around the country.

But VP Biden was able to initiate a plan that began digging us out.

“We took a bad economy” is a True statement.

“and turned it around.”

It is true that jobs began rising again and the unemployment figures dropped. And this led to the economic experts claiming the recession was over in 2009. But to Mr. and Mrs. America it wasn’t. Numbers lie. In this case the experts looked at the job numbers and claimed victory. Unfortunately, those jobs were primarily low paying jobs, such as you might get at McDonalds, Wendy’s, Five Guys, Little Caesars, Pizza Hut, and the like. For the worker laid off from a six-figure or higher job, those jobs barely sufficed.

Part of the lower unemployment rate was that people were no longer part of the work force and weren’t claiming unemployment for a variety of reasons.

The truth is that in 2016 there were still jobless people. President Obama said that many of the jobs (such as manufacturing and technical) weren’t coming back. Basically, get over it and find another job.

“And turned it around” is Mostly False.

“Donald Trump took a good economy”

Right up to Election Day the morose continued. It was hardly a good economy, but it was better than in 2008 and it was acceptable to Obama/Biden. But it was not good.

During their eight years not only did our economy improve only marginally, but we were being taken to the cleaners by our foreign allies. Part of Donald Trump’s appeal to voters was his promise to lower taxes, to get rid of many of the restrictions that mom & pop businesses and small business in general were facing.

“Donald Trump took a good economy” is a False statement.

“and drove it into the ditch.”

In less than 3 ½ years President Trump rejuvenated the economy. Historic lows in Black, Hispanic, and just plain every ethic out there in unemployment. Businesses were hiring and began laying out their plans I believe right after Trump’s election. Why? Because they believed him and trusted him. He honored that trust by not only carrying out his promises but hiring people who believed as he did. Not all worked out, but he tried to get the right people in the right job.

Moreover, he kept his promises! The only thing that temporarily derailed his promises was a Democratic run House of Representatives and the Covid-19. But even those two forces didn’t stop him.

Our country is already turning the corner. Unemployment that had been in double figures is back in single digits. The number of people out of the work force is going down, hiring is up, people are going back to work and beginning to get their feet on the ground again.

In the ditch? No, we are now poised to leap forward!

“and drove it into the ditch” is a False statement.

In my opinion, there is no reason to believe that Biden/Harris would preside over a booming economy. They want to take us back to the days that Biden is so proud of. Fracking, a backbone of our economy, would be a thing of the past. Unemployment will sour and what jobs remain will be low paying because businesses will leave America again and may never come back.

I didn’t get into Trump’s likeability, because that is not what brought this country back and, frankly, is not what we need. We need a man who stands up to the world and insists that we will play on an even field. A man who will stand up to Putin, unlike Obama, and to China, unlike Biden. We need a man who not only makes promises but keeps them! And Donald Trump’s record backs him up.

I promise to talk about Covid-19.

If you watch TV and read the paper, you are aware of a resurgence in Covid-19 cases both abroad and here in the United States. They are calling it the second wave.

However, you need to take a closer look. It is not so much of a second wave as it is a continuation of the first wave. It is now hitting rural America. If you insist on calling it a second wave, I won’t argue with you. But to include it into the worldwide resurgence is simply not ethical.

I wrote a book, Trump an Outsider’s View, that covers Covid-19 and the Death Rate rather thoroughly. I still track the Death Rate and it is now down to 2.7%! And it is still going down. Dr. Fauci and others agree that the Trump Administration saved thousands of lives by restricting China travel in January, a fact embarrasses Biden who opposed the restrictions.

Riddle News: Lies & Disruptions

Featured

10 16 2020

Welcome to Riddle News which is published every Monday and Friday.

Harris’s falsehood about President Lincoln

By now everyone knows that Vice President Pence won his debate with Kamala Harris hands down. But I want to address Harris’s rebuttal during the debate concerning the nominating of a new Supreme Court Justice.

When the subject came up, she chose to be a teacher and proceeded to tell all of us that President Abraham Lincoln refused to nominate a Supreme Court Justice prior to the election.

“In 1864 … Abraham Lincoln was up for reelection. And it was 27 days before the election. And a seat became open on the United States Supreme Court. Abraham Lincoln’s party was in charge not only of the White House but the Senate. But Honest Abe said, ‘It’s not the right thing to do. The American people deserve to make the decision about who will be the next president of the United States, and then that person will be able to select who will serve on the highest court of the land.” Kamala Harris

While it is true that Lincoln refused to nominate a Supreme Court Justice it is not true that he did so because of a principle such as she said.

Let’s take a journey back in time to 1864:

  • No evidence that Lincoln ever made comments she attributed to him
  • Lincoln’s Party usually refers to Republican Party
  • Lincoln was running on National Union Party ticket, not Republican
  • Democrat Andrew Johnson was running as Vice President
  • A little fracas history called the Civil War was taking place
  • Congress was in recess
  • Congress wouldn’t reconvene until December 5, 1864
  • Even if congress reconvened distance and transportation made it virtually impossible
  • Fastest transportation was coal-burning train
  • Senators were at home far from Washington D.C.
  • Communications in 1864: Limited primarily to city folk
  • Communications in 1864: No phone, no TV, no Radio
  • Communications in 1864: Telegraph was costly, slow, with abbreviated messages
  • Communications in 1864: Newspapers usually a month old, not detailed, no pictures

What I found interesting was that even liberal Fact Checkers labeled her comments as False! That tells you something. When I saw and heard her remarks, I felt that it was a prepared comment, but if that were so, then she was ill prepared. And putting words into the mouth of any President, let along President Lincoln, is not only ethically wrong, it comes off as a lie!

Disrupt Business as Usual

Once again, the Democrats think Americans are stupid. Earlier they had pledged to disrupt the nomination of Barrett for Supreme Court. According to reports only one Democratic Senator was in the Senate while others stood outside. This was an attempt to force Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to ignore Senate Rules concerning Minority Party presence (two Senators required).

However, I believe they failed. Why? Read the following:

  • Senator Richard Blumenthal (D) of Connecticut, walked in and voted “no” during vote
  • Other Democrats voted by proxy

In other words, they were present, some hiding out in the halls until the vote began; then Blumenthal entered the chamber. There were at least two physically present and the rest were present through modern communications. The entire episode was staged to send a message to the American people that the process was flawed.

Instead, they sent a message to the American people that their concern for propriety was and is fake. And, in my opinion, most Americans saw it that way. Just as the Democrats never had a viable issue with President Trump but impeached him anyway, here they are using childish pranks to get their way. It is a disgrace.

As an aside, as a young man I saw a lot of differences between Republicans and Democrats, but men and women of both parties were willing to cross the aisle to come to an agreement on legislation. Those days seem to be loooong gone!

It’s the Economy

With all the talk about Covid-19 cases rising, the media doesn’t mention that the Death Rate is still going down. The latest rate is about 2.7%. Neither are they talking about the resurgent economy.

The painting of a dour future by the media serves their leftist agenda, but the fact is that the economy is coming back. Below are some of the positive highlights (all in September):

  • Construction industry added 26,000 jobs
  • Financial Activities added 37,000 jobs
  • Health Care and Social Assistance added 108,000 jobs
  • Manufacturing added 66,000 job
  • Other Services added 27,000 jobs
  • Professional and Business Services added 89,000 jobs
  • Retail Trade added 142,000 jobs
  • Unemployed people fell 1,000,000
  • Unemployment Rate fell to 7.9%
  • Wholesale Trade added 19,000 jobs

It is time for us to focus on the economy. Covid-19 as a deadly force is declining despite the current talk about a second and third wave. But the economy is getting stronger not only by the month but by the week!

Riddle News: Trump Health Plan

Featured

10 02 2020

Welcome to Riddle News which is published every Monday and Friday.

In the first debate Biden said repeatedly Trump didn’t have a health plan. The following excerpts from a Newt Gingrich article prove otherwise.

Joe Biden’s assertion during Tuesday’s debate that President Trump does not have a health care plan is flat out false.

Unfortunately, the mainstream news media’s fact checkers probably won’t call him out on it… In fact, there is a widespread misunderstanding of what the president has done in health care and how it all fits together.

Back in 2018, we described…Trump’s “1,000 step progress on health reform,” noting that instead of opting to pass one giant, comprehensive health care bill, the president was delivering a series of small but significant reforms to cumulatively take us to a much better destination.

[Riddle: Does that remind you of how things used to get done?]

That destination was outlined in 2017 by the administration in a 124-page Health and Human Services document, “Reforming America’s Healthcare System Through Choice and Competition.” …It paints a picture of an alternative model — one that puts patients before insurance companies or government bureaucrats and delivers better care and coverage at lower costs.

Everything…President Trump has done in health care since then has been consistent with the vision laid …

Even …coverage of one of the president’s actions on health care is viewed in isolation rather than as another step towards the destination described in 2017.

[Riddle – We skip to a partial listing of his actions]

  • Repealed the individual mandate
  • Eliminated ObamaCare’s health insurance, medical device and “Cadillac plan” taxes
  • Expanded health reimbursement arrangements to allow employers to help pay for their employees’ individual health plan premiums with pre-tax funds
  • Lowered prescription drug prices for the first time in 50 years
  • Approved a record number of generic drugs, saving Americans $2.6 billion…
  • Took executive action to ensure price transparency in health care
  • Lowered Medicare Advantage premiums considerably — by as much as 40 percent in some states — while modernizing the program with new benefits and options
  • Improved kidney care with more transplants and better treatment
  • Lowered the price of insulin for those on Medicare
  • Invested in advances in genetic therapy for sickle cell disease
  • Launched a $500 million initiative to find cures for childhood cancers
  • Addressed the opioid crisis by expanding access to medication-assisted treatment and lifesaving naloxone, reduced opioid prescriptions by 35 percent, and launched findtreatment.gov to help those addicted
  • Passed Right To Try to give critically ill patients access to lifesaving cures that haven’t been approved by the Food and Drug Administration;
  • Expanded access to telehealth, especially in rural and underserved areas
  • Signed historic VA Choice and Accountability legislation
  • Launched a 24-hour suicide hotline for veterans; and
  • Signed the largest-ever increase in childcare development block grants
  • Allowed more health expenses from health savings accounts
  • Gave states more flexibility to run their individual markets.

Also…orders that would go a long way toward solving…surprise billing problem, saving more money on drugs, and providing additional certainty to those with pre-existing conditions that they will always be able to find affordable health coverage.

… all consistent with the vision his administration laid out three years ago. They reveal that — contrary to news media reports and Biden’s talking points — not only does President Trump have a health care plan, he has been successfully implementing it.

Thanks to his 1,000-step approach…we are on our way to a transparent, patient-focused health care system that delivers better care and coverage at lower costs.

Ron’s Lit Tip Observations

Featured

09 30 2020

Welcome to Ron’s Lit Tip. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I will share a tip with you.

Last night I watched the debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden. I decided to report on that instead of my normal lit tip.

The debate was a disaster in many ways, but I did draw a few things from it.

  1. Classic Trump

The President is combative. That is not a news flash, we all know it. And last night he was very combative. He won’t and wasn’t silent when he felt Biden was lying. He interrupted Biden frequently and dominated the debate.

  • Joe Biden

Joe had memorized certain words and phrases prior to the debate. This showed up several times. He used the following, “he doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” “he’s a liar,” “a clown,” plus the laugh. All of these were put out there hoping that one of them was a virile sound bite. The laugh was designed for video.

But for all intents and purposes these failed. What I remember the most from the debate was that Biden was ineffective, at times he fumbled his words, his lips quivered, and some people noticed stressed facial expressions, all of which indicated that Joe Biden was having cognitive troubles.

But of more concern to me was he couldn’t handle the attacks from President Trump. He had to know that the attacks were coming, and his only response was to mumble words and phrases he had memorized. In one instance, he seemed to need the moderator, Chris Wallace, to help him.

It occurred to me that if Joe Biden couldn’t handle a debate where he knew attacks were coming, how could he expect to handle the pressure of the Presidency?

  • Chris Wallace

Wallace is Center Left, a liberal who doesn’t like Trump. So, it wasn’t surprising that his overall performance favored Biden. Although both candidates ignored the agreed upon rules and interrupted one another, Wallace appeared to give Biden more leeway.

  • Fact Checkers

I have little confidence in factcheckers, so I didn’t watch them. This morning I looked at a couple to see what they were saying. Basically, they were predictable.

  • Overall

I remember a time when debates revealed information that proved important to the election. Last night’s debate revealed little. There are a few items though.

Court Packing – There has been talk that if the Senate confirms Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court and if Biden wins, he will try to pack the court. In other words, increase the number of judges. This only requires a Congressional act signed into law by the President. Biden refused to answer the question by Wallace if he supported packing the court.

Economy – Simply put, President Trump favors opening up businesses, schools, etc., while Biden supports shutting everything down. I find Biden’s leanings amusing to a degree. He continually referred to Trump’s shutdown as a “recession.”

Jobs –Biden and Wallace both cited the number of jobs Obama created as opposed to the number of jobs Trump has created. The problem with that is that the Obama jobs were low paying (think McDonalds) while the jobs under Trump have been increased factory jobs, higher paying white collar jobs, and the return of many white collar employees to or near the pay levels of prior to 2008.

Who won? That’s easy. Trump 1, Biden 0.

Truth on Trump

Featured

09 28 2020

Welcome to News which is published every Monday and Friday.

Today’s news regards President Trump’s accomplishments and the facts regarding him, his administration, Covid-19, the economy, and more. If you didn’t watch the video please do so, it gives an overall view.

Soon the first debate will take place. I have no qualms about Trump vs. Biden but hiding in the reeds are network ‘bobbleheads’ and so-called factcheckers that will attempt to discredit anything the President says. Not that Trump will be clobbered, after all he did survive 2016 and won the presidency.

But the NeverTrumpers are not above using lies and distortions to discredit the President. That means that all of us have to be alert to the truth, which is one of the reasons I wrote Trump an Outsider’s View. Although conservative and a Trump supporter I have done my best to present the facts and let the reader decide what is truth and what is not.

There is an argument out there that this is not the most important election. I’ve read it and don’t buy into their argument. This election is critical because most of the gains that President Trump has achieved for our country are by decree. The next President can override them.

What Does That Mean?

It means that the next president can issue his own decrees which would supersede whatever President Trump has done. That covers a lot of ground including our economy, the wall, immigration, and more.

Are there other reasons it is critical?

Yes. The swamp still needs drained. The House Democrats in particular have shown that they are not fit for office. Good people elected them to do their job which is to legislate. Instead they have used government time, energy, and money to undermine and try to destroy a duly elected President. The American people see through all their actions and need to sweep them out of office!

In addition, while President Trump has accomplished much, he still has more to do. One thing is to rebuild the economy from the shutdown. He is already doing that, but he needs more time. Further, he also has more to accomplish both domestically and internationally.

The First Debate is About Taxes. What about them?

I expect to hear the same old Democratic arguments that are always made against Republicans without supporting facts. That is that the tax breaks are just for the rich. Tell that to the mom and pop businesses that were thriving in the Trump economy prior to Covid-19 and are beginning to get going again.

But this is a good time to take a critical look at the plan that Biden/Harris have put out there. We don’t have enough rich people to pay for that! Soak the rich historically hurts the middleclass and the lower-class workers. Why? Because just as profits trickle down the food chain so do taxes. Or the rich close up shop and leave the country which leaves us with fewer high paying jobs. It is a disaster waiting to happen.

Wouldn’t the Government Step In?

Of course, they would. It is what the liberals want. But how many governments have taken over the economy and prospered? Some have experimented and seemed to prosper for a while, but it never lasts. Eventually you run out of rich people’s money.

News Voter Fraud

Featured

09 25 2020

Welcome to News which is published every Monday and Friday.

Is Voter Fraud Real?

Yes, it is real. But before talking about it let’s make sure you understand the issue. The President refers to voter fraud meaning mail-in voting. The issue has been blurred by politics.

What is Mail-in Voting?

Basically, there are two systems. Some states, like Florida, mail ballots to people who request them. Other states mail out ballots to people in mass mailings without requiring a request or, in some cases, an ID. It is this latter form of mail-in wherein fraud is possible.

But They Say There’s No Evidence of Mail-in Fraud.

“They” say a lot of things. Check out the Heritage Foundation which has done a lot of work in this regard. Here’s a sampling taken from my book Trump an Outsider’s View.

FRAUDULENT USE OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS:

Requesting absentee ballots and voting without the knowledge of the actual voter; or obtaining the absentee ballot from a voter and either filling it in directly and forging the voter’s signature or illegally telling the voter who to vote for.

The above shows that there are 4 types:

  1. Requesting absentee ballots and voting without knowledge of the actual voter
  2. Obtaining absentee ballot from a voter and filling it in directly
  3. Obtaining absentee ballot from a voter and forging the voter’s signature
  4. Illegally telling he voter who to vote for.

The Heritage Foundation provides state by state cases of voter fraud. You simply go to their site and you can find out the stats for any state.

This year is different from previous years in that states are mailing out ballots to, in some cases, everyone. These are unsolicited and apparently unmanaged (there have been reports of individuals getting more than one ballot).

So, Is that a Big Problem?

Commonsense tells you yes, the potential is there. It doesn’t matter that there may not be a specific track record regarding mass mailings. This is a relatively new experience where states mail out to all citizens but maintain no records or safeguards. For example, do they require a valid signature and address? Do they have a system to detect and prevent duplicate voting? Do they have a system in place to prevent someone from voting both by mail and by in-person voting?

If I Vote by Mail, Will it Be Counted?

Good question and no one has an absolute answer. Technically every vote should count. But how do you count a vote that has no name attached to it? And should you count a vote that was received after the deadline?

The Congress and the states can pass laws that provide for early counting of mail-in voting or extended time to count. Some states are already working on this. But because this is rather new you really can’t foresee all the potential problems. Personally, I think the safest way is to go to your polls and vote early.

But this in itself requires thought and action on the part of states because of the Pandemic. While there is evidence the virus is winding down there are still strident voices calling for a variety of restrictions to remain in force or be returned.

And you still have the problem of ballots without ID.

In my opinion, these ballots should not be counted. You have no way of determining who voted and how many times they voted. This is where the fraud question is centered. Unrequested ballots and unidentified ballots represent a dark place in the whole process. And no genius has come forward with a plan to protect the integrity of the process.

In all likelihood this election is going to the courts.

If the President wins in a landslide such a case may be averted. But you also have Congressional elections taking place which could go to the courts. It is a messy situation.

Supreme Court News

Featured

09 21 2020

Welcome to The News which is published every Monday and Friday.

What’s all this noise about the Supreme Court?

With the death off Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg a major shift is in the wind for the Supreme Court. Because of this the Left and Right are squaring off. For the Democrats it represents what might be a distant prospect of changing the judicial landscape solidly to the Left. For the Republicans it represents the opportunity to finally shift the court to the right where the Constitution and rule of law outweigh social experimentation.

The current battle is whether a justice should be nominated by President Trump or by the next president (Trump or Biden).

Who’s Right?

That depends on your worldview. If you are on the left and are hoping Biden wins then you want to delay the nomination until Biden is in office. If you are on the Right, you want the nomination now for at least two reasons.

The first reason is that if the election is close, like some prognosticators think, then it could be decided by the court. In that scenario you need a full Supreme Court bench. Otherwise, you get a real mess.

The second reason is that the court would be returned to its original status, namely, a court ruled by the Constitution. Not the modernized constitution of the Liberals but the Constitution that is the foundation of American.

What Happens if Trump’s Nominee Fails to Win in Senate?

Not much. It only delays it if Trump is re-elected. I believe he will be re-elected, but if not, then Biden would have the choice.

Doesn’t Trump trail in the Polls?

In some he still trails, but in polls based on “Likely” voters he is winning, and the margin has been increasing. There has been a shift toward Trump in the Battleground States and among the Hispanics and perhaps the Black communities.

Another factor to consider is the influence of the Internet. In the past the Democrats would use all manner of deception and confuse, even deceive, the American public. But things have changed. Americans of every age, color, and ethnicity are proficient with the Internet and know how to look up the facts. Many, if not most, understand that so-called “Fact Checkers” are unreliable and biased.

So, they look the information up and find out the truth.

So, what can we expect?

As far as the Supreme Court is concerned it is hard to tell. But despite House Speaker’s Pelosi’s claim she has something up her sleeve it is doubtful there is anything there. The real question is whether the Republicans will stand with the President. Time will tell.

As for the election, I think Trump benefits no matter which way the Senate goes. And I think he will be re-elected perhaps in a landslide.

Although my book Trump an Outsider’s View is already available for purchase or Pre-Order (today is last day), I continue to follow the stats. If you read the paper, you might get the picture that things are still bad and getting worse.

Not So!

But there are still new cases.

True, but the number of true cases is going down. That’s a good thing not a bad thing. But the true story lies in the death rate.

Death Rate?

Yes. I published my newest book Trump an Outsider’s View on September 11. The eBook is currently in Pre-Order and will be released tomorrow. In both versions I had the following stats:

Total cases: 6,438,739

Total deaths: 192,834

Death Rate: 2.99%

Compare those numbers to today’s (September 18, 2020):

Total cases: 6,670,496

Total deaths: 197,447

Death Rate: 2.96%

How do you determine Death Rate?

You divide the total deaths by the total cases. This gives you a running average. When viewed over a long period of time (say January to September 18) it mitigates the delay factor people talk about.

A Closer Look

When you run the numbers, you find that during that seven-day period new cases went up by a total of 231,757 and new deaths went up by 4,613. Convert that to daily, and you get an average of 33,108 new cases and 659 new deaths.

That is considerably below the numbers for the height of the pandemic.

What does that mean?

It means the pandemic is slowing down. Now that the cases are also on a downtrend, the Death Rate is no longer plunging as it was from June 1 through September 11, but it still is moving downward.

But the News Media has changed its focus.

Now the focus is on the economic damage done by the virus. But as with the death rate the media is behind on the economy. Although they state that Americans applying for jobless benefits fell last week to 860,000, the emphasis is on the historic highs that number represents.

Again, they report that jobless claims fell by 33,000 but the article emphasizes the high numbers in relation to last year. In other words, they can say they reported positive news which is true. But they wrapped it in negative news. The truth is that the economy is slowly (that is, slower than we want) ramping up.

Employment is rising and unemployment is sinking. And that is far more important news than the fact we have hit record breaking levels. Yes, we did but that primarily took place in months past. We are now seeing the American economy on an upward climb. It is slower than we want but there is no reason to believe it won’t speed up.

Speaking for myself, I expect the economy to be stronger by election day than it has been for a while now. I also expect the new cases and new deaths to be lower perhaps in the 1% Death Rate. That doesn’t change the tragedy of even one death, nor does it excuse the Democrats for first denying the Pandemic (and accusing Trump of racism) in the beginning nor their use of the pandemic to further political aims.

We will still see Democratic opportunism and negativism, but I am glad we have a President who is optimistic about America and its future.

The clouds of the pandemic are dispersing, and the sunlight is shining through. It is time to smile again!

News President Trump

Featured

09 14 2020

Welcome to News which is published every Monday and Friday.

In today’s news I am proud to announce that my latest book Trump an Outsider’s View is now available for Pre-Order of the eBook!

This book has been labor intensive as I have daily needed to research by reading newspaper, searching the internet, and whatever it took to gather information. It is a book that spells out the facts that the news media conveniently left out. Here’s a quick scan of some of it’s topics.

  1. 2016 Election from announcement to election
  2. Charge of Collusion and its aftermath
  3. When and how did the economic boom start
  4. Handling of Covid-19
  5. Foreign Affairs

These are just a few of the subjects looked. A big one that the Democrats are staking a lot of hope in is the Administration’s handling of the Covid-19 crises. I have included a timeline dating all the way back to November, 2019 that shows when and where the virus started, the U.S. government’s first response and its responses thereafter.

I think readers are going to be surprised.

But the virus is not the only thing that will surprise people. I wish I had time to get out some of the other topics, but let me assure you of this: This book is full of facts as well as my own observations. It is a book that if read seriously will change your view of the President and how he’s handling his job. It will change the view or strengthen your view.

Trump an Outsider’s View is timely and it available in eBook plus the Print version will be available soon. Get your copy now!

Today’s Issue: Really!

Welcome to News & Views which is published every Monday and Friday.

Let me get this straight. A person who is 3rd in line to be President, wields great power, and a millionaire was set up by a hair salon or a stylist. Really!

Setup or Just Arrogant?

The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has enormous power. She has people available who not only monitor but are in control of where she goes, etc. The U.S. Capitol Police protect her, but as the next in line after Vice-President Pence, she apparently has Secret Service protection as well.

My point is that whatever agency protects her would have the ability to “scout ahead” to find out if it is safe. They would also have known of any state or local regulations that would or could impact her travel. In this case, they would have known that salons were not yet allowed to open up.

In my mind, Nancy Pelosi cannot blame the salon owner or the stylist. Her people would or at least should have known about any and all circumstances surrounding her appointment. Further, not wearing her mask for a brief time is completely on her. I don’t go to salons, but I am quite sure that in these days wearing a mask is required by most store owners, not to mention local government.

So, being setup is a non-starter. If her people didn’t inform her, then she has a personnel problem. But commonsense tells all of us wearing a mask when entering a facility is usually required. And having it around her neck is not what is meant.

What’s her Problem?

There’re no term limits for legislators. So, she has been serving in Congress for 33 years, including 7 years representing the 12th District. In that amount of time a person acquires a lot of political power.

She’s been Speaker of the House for 17 years. That makes it very hard to get rid of her as either Speaker or Minority Leader (if Republicans win majority).

However, I think she is slipping. Not talking mentally, although one could argue that. But politically she has suffered defeats. The Impeachment fiasco should never have happened. In case you forgot, she went from saying “impeachment is so divisive” to pushing it through. And it was not because of overwhelming evidence. They had a lot of innuendos, fake manifesto, and political skills on their side, but not much in the way of real evidence.

But for the first time in her career she felt fear. She sees these younger strident women coming into Congress and found she couldn’t control them. I believe to this day that she never supported impeachment but did so because of the loud voices of a few. Now she is stuck with it and will forever be linked to it.

I think we’re seeing the demise of her leadership role. I’m not celebrating, because the Party is selling out to the Far Left. She may linger on for a while yet, but I think the die is cast and she will be replaced by someone further to the Left.

I believe her response of blaming others for her own actions is just a symptom of what is going on. We may see a lot more in the future.
